Privacy
Family Mediation Ireland does not sell personal data. Contact forms send only what you submit: name, email, message. That information goes to our editorial inbox and is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or third party mailing lists.
Technical logs may be kept briefly for security and reliability. Server logs record IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. These logs are used to catch abuse, diagnose technical problems, and understand which guides are most useful. They are not linked to your name unless you contact us separately.
We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or social media plugins that follow you around the web. The site may use a simple analytics tool to count visits, but it is configured to anonymize IP addresses and respect Do Not Track signals where possible.
If you book a mediation session, your contact details and case notes are stored in a secure, password protected system. Only the assigned mediator and administrative staff see that information. It is never used for marketing and is deleted seven years after the case closes, in line with professional retention rules.
Mediation session content is confidential by law and by contract. Nothing you say in a session can be disclosed without your written consent, except in the narrow circumstances set out in the Mediation Act 2017: risk of serious harm, child protection concerns, or fraud.
Email is not secure. If you need to share sensitive documents or details before a session, we will offer a secure upload link or ask you to bring papers in person.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Email your request to editorial@familymediation.ie with enough detail to identify your record. We will respond within one month.
This privacy notice applies only to familymediation.ie. If you follow a link to another site (a government agency, a law firm, a support charity), that site's own privacy rules apply.
We review this policy annually and update it when our practices or the law changes. The current version is always posted at this URL.
